The 21st Century Classroom

The 21st century classroom will encounter challenges. It might be hard for some schools to build the classroom, some of the challenges are the cost or money, Community/environment around them and equality.

I picked money because it will cost a lot for the schools to buy the things for the 21st century classroom. Laptops and the other necessary technologies for the classroom are pretty expensive so not all school can afford enough money for the technologies for the classroom. But I knew that the schools want to have the latest technologies for the students to learn more better. Some schools can buy the things for the classroom like the private ones but the others can't because they don't have enough money to buy the latest technologies they want.

Another challenge is the community/environment around. Some people might not like the 21st century, like some environmentalist, parents and some other people. The environmentalist might not like it because it will cost more pollution, the factories will make the technologies and it might cost pollution because of the smoke that came out from the factory. Parents might not like either because their children might use the technologies for fun and not for school.

The last challenge for me is equality because it may be unfair for the other schools that can't afford the technologies for their classrooms. Some schools are doing fundraising activities, so they can buy the things they want for the classroom but it's not the technologies that they wanna buy, it's the extra chairs or books or something else that is more important than technologies. It's really sad for the other schools that don't have enough money to buy the latest technologies. The other school are very lucky because they have the latest technologies they want.

The 21st century classroom challenges are very hard for the schools that can't afford technologies but the other school are so lucky, they have the things that they need for the 21st century classroom. I just hope that these challenges can be solve.

A different way to deal with bullying

Bullying is relationship problem with others and it is needed to be solved. It may involve verbal harassment, physical assault and may be directed persistently towards particular victims, perhaps on grounds of race, religion, gender, sexuality, or ability. Bullying is wrong! It is behaviour that makes the person being bullied feel afraid or uncomfortable. I agree that we need to deal bullying in a different way. We have two options: "No-blame" method and "Punishing bullies" method. I will pick the "no-blame" method, continue reading this and you will find why I picked this.

We need to treat bullies in a different way and by not punishing them. We can use the "no-blame" method because you will not hurt the bullies feelings. They are still a child too. We don't need to punish them but we can just let them do community service, its much more better. Like what Mitchell's family said in the article ",Save the child, because he is just a child too." It means that they don't want the person to be punish or anything else. Bullies are still child too, maybe they are just doing this things because they have some problems of there own.

I picked the "no-blame" method because I think that it will help the bullies. But I also thought about the victims, it might be unfair to them because the bullies probably hurt his/her feelings by verbal or physical. If the schools used the "no-blame" method there will be no consequences to the bullies anymore, that's why I thought about the community service.

There should be no punishment to bullies, instead of staying at home, just let them go to school and help the teachers. We have to be educating the bullies. Many of us were told to ignore our bullies or just let it go and the bully will stop leaving them alone. But it doesn't work, the school should teach the bullies some lessons like how are the victims feel or something else. Many communities are putting in place ways of children to report bullying so that they are not pointed out and don't feel like they are "tattletailing". I don't want anyone to be called tattle tailing because it hurts their feelings.

I want the bullies to change, like a normal student going to school, being nice to others and having lots of friends. I hope the "no-blame" method could be approach to bullies, because we have a bigger chance of getting rid of bullies and turning them into normal students. I don't want anyone to be hurt by somebody else because of what they have in themselves. I don't want anyone to be called tattle tailing because it hurts their feelings. That is my opinion about the article A different way to deal with bullying.

What can politicians learn from kids?

Well,I think there is a lot of things that politicians can learn from kids. Politicians are adults, so we are the one that should be learning from them. But no its the opposite way, they should be the ones that is learning from us. Because we can do and think things that is way better than them. I'm not saying that we are smarter than them, but sometimes they are not doing the right thing. We know what is right and wrong, because we are still learning it. I also think that they don't know what we are learning inside the classroom and the lessons that the teachers are teaching us. Kids enjoy a lot of things like going to school, because they want to learn new things in lots of exciting ways. Politicians can learn the things that the kids do, because the things that we are learning are so much interesting and fun. I hope they will learn new and right things from us.

Students need a shift in perspective when it comes to...

CONFIDENCE!... I asked some friends of mine and family, and they are convinced that a lot of students don't have enough confidence among themselves. Lots of students has lack of confidence, for example they are to shy to read in class, another example is they don't have enough confidence they need for school. But there are students that has lots of confidence, they have enough of confidence, so they think they are so awesome and so cool. If the students that has lack of confidence can change, they will create a big change in their school. The adults can help these students too, by convincing them to remove their shyness and to have more confidence among themselves. "It doesn't matter who you really are, it matters what is inside of you."

School: An assembly line or creative spark?

For me, I believe that school is a creative spark because we could use the netbooks and smart boards. It makes the classroom more fun, because we could use the net books in language, our afternoon class and in french. So we don't lose our minds or go daydreaming. We actually enjoy this kind of teaching in our school. But sometimes I think its a assembly line because we always have tons of homework.
